Your family is in for a real treat when you surprise everyone with a spontaneous themed movie night! Pick one of these two ideas, and see how excited everyone is about staying inside and spending a night together.
Gone Camping
If you can’t actually go camping, the next best thing is to huddle up in front of the TV and watch other people do it! In all seriousness, this theme has so many possibilities, and will be a perfect treat no matter how old your kids are. To start off decorations, begin by making the cutest tabletop campfire. All you need is a base like a tray, string lights, rocks, sticks, a hot glue gun, and orange and yellow fabrics. Next thing you know, you’ll have a fire to keep everyone toasty. For the party food, keep it in line with the theme, and serve things like hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels, and all the fixings for s’mores. Another sweet idea is red and orange fruits to match the fire. Serve the food on a table covered in a checkered cloth, and have matching napkins and plates.
A few movie recommendations that feature camping include: The Parent Trap, Camp Nowhere, The Great Outdoors, and Camp Rock. Enjoy!

Be The Hero!
Another idea is a superhero-themed movie night. Step one is always coming up with your list of films. Pick some new and some old, and write down the order you’d like to watch them in. You can stack as many as you’d like! Next, come up with some themed games and snacks. A fun game to try is “Name 5” (printout included in the link) where you pick a category and the crowd has to name 5 things related to it. Impress everyone with how much you know about these movies! For food, be sure to load up on movie snacks, as this can make or break a movie night. Treats like milk and cookies, popcorn and soda, and anything else you can think of can be topped off with printable treat toppers. Mark your snacks with your favorite hero so everyone knows what is yours.
